Law Enforcement: Take Action

Support Retailers' Efforts to Ensure that Education is Part of a Juvenile Shoplifter's Experience

Shoplifting is an issue that is most effectively and most efficiently addressed when the entire community of stakeholders works together to put out the message that kids and families need to Say No To Shoplifting. The actions and approach of both retailers and law enforcement are at the heart of these efforts in any community. Retailers and law enforcement set the tone for what happens after a shoplifting incident and thus can influence the rest of the community – parents, schools, courts etc. – to follow suit.

When law enforcement respond to shoplifting in a serious manner it sends a message to the entire community and lets people know that criminal behavior, on any level, is not tolerated in your community.
